This year’s 100 most influential executives in the government IT community were honored at a a gala tonight at the Grand Hyatt in Washington, D.C.

The Federal 100 Awards recognize government and industry leaders who have played pivotal roles in the federal government IT community and who “have made a difference in the way technology has transformed their agency or accelerated their agency’s mission.”

Winners of 2012 Fed 100 Eagle Award were announced Wednesday night. The award for the government category went to Dave McClure, Associate Administrator, Citizen Services & Innovative Technologies for the General Services Administration (pictured above); Alfred Grasso, CEO of Mitre, received the award for the industry category.

McClure was saluted at the gala as a positive force for change for federal IT and a federal “renaissance man” by Dave Wennergren, Deputy Assistant Secretary of Defense and Deputy CIO for the Department of Defense.

The rest of this year’s winners, announced earlier this year, included 23 executives from industry, one from state/local government and 76 from the federal government. The list includes 51 people in civilian agencies and 25 in the defense sector, according to the magazines editors.
