The Digital Services Innovation Center, under the direction of the General Services Administration, announced its first in series of educational online webinars focused on application programming interfaces, which will take place online July 19, from 10:00-11:00.

API Webinar Series Part I: APIs for Dummies–an Introduction to APIs will highlight the basics of APIs, how they’re being leveraged both in the private and public sectors, and how agencies can get started building their own.

Application programming interfaces, or APIs, allow developers to get creative with an agency’s data-from making content mobile ready to innovative mashups. API’s are an important data element agencies need to address when implementing the Digital Government Strategy.

In this first installment of this new GSA API webinar series, experts from NASA and Centers for Disease Control and Prevention will explain what APIs are, why they are important, and how they are covered in the Digital Government Strategy.

This webinar is being hosted by GSA’s Digital Services Innovation Center.
