Ever find yourself lost on a website not knowing where to begin looking for the right information? Don’t fret if you are in the Cornhusker state. With the new and improved website, www.Nebraska.gov, it is now easier than ever to connect citizens to their government.

“It is important for the State of Nebraska to have a very intuitive and resourceful homepage,” says Brenda Decker, chief information officer for the State of Nebraska. “Nebraska.gov’s new look is easy to navigate and we have added landing pages with well-organized information so users can find what they need at their fingertips. We are very proud of our innovative and user-friendly design.”

Touch and swipe technologies are available on any digital platform, from pc to mobile, and crowd-sourced Nebraska photography is prominent throughout the site. Geo/IP location-based services are offered so users can easily find government offices, parks and hospitals. The mobile vertical and horizontal swipe capabilities allow easy navigation and help retain the same amount of information across all platforms.

“Nebraska citizens and businesses deserve to have an easy to use and well-organized government website, while staying current with technology trends,” said Secretary of State John Gale who is also the chairman of the Nebraska State Records Board, which oversees the portal contract. “The new Nebraska.gov website is innovative and incorporates more on-demand social media information than ever, really making the Nebraska.gov website a great resource.” The Nebraska.gov website was redesigned at no cost to taxpayers through Nebraska Interactive’s partnership with the State of Nebraska using a self-funded model. The competitively bid contract allows the company to provide eGovernment applications and services to state agencies, boards, commissions, political subdivisions, local government agencies and quasi-government agencies within the state of Nebraska. Nebraska Interactive also works with more than 50 state agencies, managing over 360 online applications through a self-funded model.
