Army To Launch Mobile App Store For Intelligence Services

The U.S. Army is expected to open a new mobile applications store as part of a pilot program designed to offer a more flexible way to develop and buy software for the government. The online store will provide a space where users can request specific tools and where participating developers can quickly provide or create a product to fill respective needs without getting bogged down in a complex and time consuming acquisitions process.

The new pilot will be a six-month effort that will support the Army’s intelligence service and the potentially intelligence agencies. Keep reading →

Army Awards Contract To Develop Cyber Maneuvering Technology

The Army has awarded the Raytheon Company a $3.1 million contract to develop a computer defense technology that constantly changes a network’s characteristics to confuse attackers.

The Morphing Network Assets to Restrict Adversarial Reconnaissance (MORPHINATOR) program is applying a process known as cyber maneuvering to rearrange key network characteristics such as IP addresses, service ports and operating software to prevent intruders from getting a good look at it. Raytheon Unveils Aviation Warrior, Integrated Data Helo Flight Suit

FARNBOROUGH AIR SHOW: Aviation Warrior is a tiny $5 million contract with enormous potential, given the legions of American and allied helicopters around the world.

Raytheon unveiled the system this morning here. Essentially, it’s an advanced heads-up display on the pilot’s helmet — with colored maps and symbology to help pilots cope with dangers such as brownouts and powerlines coupled with a small, ruggedized hard drive and an arm band device that shows Blue Force tracking information.
