TechAmerica released the findings of the 22nd Annual Survey Of Federal Chief Information Officers May 3, 2012, in a report entitled “Fiscal Constraints and Future Challenges – Driving Innovation at the CIO Level.”

The report, based on interviews with 40 federal CIOs and their deputies, examines five major concerns facing federal CIOs currently: cybersecurity, controlling costs, human capital, central agency policy and mobile technology.

The report covers a variety of issues, and objectives:

  • Control costs
  • Rationalize central IT services
  • Introduce new technology
  • Modernize IT systems
  • Improve IT governance and portfolio management
