Avnet, Inc. (NYSE: AVT), a leading global technology distributor, today announced that Avnet Government Solutions, LLC, its wholly owned subsidiary focused on the U.S. public sector, has expanded its General Services Administration (GSA) schedule to include Catalogic Software technology products and solutions. Catalogic Software helps organizations worldwide manage and orchestrate the use of data in support of mission-critical operations. This will allow Avnet Government Solutions to better serve its government (federal and state, local and education) partners, and broaden their offerings for the public sector. The addition of Catalogic to Avnet Government Solutions’ GSA schedule gives partners access to the federal government’s largest Government-Wide Acquisition Contract (GWAC), which agencies use to purchase innovative solutions for their IT needs, without making the investments to hold their own contract.

“This is yet another important step in Avnet Government Solutions’ commitment to building a complete portfolio of value-added offerings for U.S. government customers,” said Pete Rzonca, vice president of Avnet Government Solutions. “We created Avnet Government Solutions to provide our partners with a single source for all the resources they need to succeed in pursuing government IT business. The addition of Catalogic solutions will further enable Avnet Government Solutions to help our partners profitably increase their government business.”

Launched in May 2014 as a new business to help independent software vendor (ISV), systems integrator (SI), managed service provider (MSP) and value-added reseller (VAR) partners capture IT market share with the U.S. government, Avnet Government Solutions focuses on the federal and state, local and education markets via its holistic approach to pursuing these market opportunities – combining business development, capture and compliance assistance with Avnet’s more than 90 years of technology distribution expertise.

“IT organizations in federal agencies recognize that advanced data management is at the heart of their mission-critical IT functions, including disaster recovery, test and development, data protection, and analytics,” said Tom Grave, vice president of marketing at Catalogic Software. “Catalogic Software is excited to partner with Avnet Government Solutions to deliver a holistic approach to copy data management to public sector customers, empowering them to reduce costs while improving their ability to deliver the required data access to their internal customers, and to taxpayers at large.”

“Avnet Government Solutions has demonstrated that they have the capabilities to help us take our government business to a new level, and their addition of Catalogic will help us in our commitment to providing our customers with better managed and protected data,” said Bob Kerr, vice president, SwishData, a group of highly skilled cybersecurity and data center architects focused on ensuring federal agencies meet their mission and an Avnet partner. “As a veteran firm that provides enterprise IT architecture for federal agencies and the U.S. military, SwishData places paramount importance on the security, insight and control of our customers’ data infrastructures, and Catalogic’s offerings will help to safeguard and manage them.”

Avnet Government Solutions offers services to partners specifically designed to provide a comprehensive approach to pursuing federal, state, local and education contracts, including capture assistance, compliance and process management. Partners are also able to access additional resources to help further accelerate their capabilities in the government market. For example, they will be able to participate in Avnet GovPath®, which provides education and enablement to hone their expertise on the U.S. government market using Avnet’s SolutionsPath® methodology. Partners can also access other SolutionsPath practices, including those focused on the healthcare and financial markets, to expand their expertise in key vertical market opportunities within the public sector.

Additionally, partners can leverage Avnet’s IT services to create more complete offerings for contract vehicles and increase the types of government contracts they are able to pursue. Avnet’s services experts can help partners expand their capabilities to include services and service delivery models. Avnet’s IT services offerings include: hybrid cloud services; orchestration and automation of software-defined data centers; business intelligence and analytics; security; engineering and integration; education and training; field installation and maintenance; asset repair, recycling and disposal; and enterprise and digital solutions.
