Residents of Gem County, Idaho, can now pay for their planning, zoning and building permit fees using credit and debit cards, Brad Clark, Gem County Development Services supervisor announced.

“We have been receiving requests for this service for a long time and are very pleased to have finally stepped into the 21st century,” Clark said. “It has been very convenient for our customers.”

The county accepts any credit or debit card displaying a Visa, MasterCard, Discover, or American Express logo.

Gem County partnered with Access Idaho, the state’s official web administrator that specializes in electronic government applications, for help with setting up and running the service. The Development Services department is the 118th county deployment to launch Access Idaho’s PayPort payment service. No tax dollars or county funds were used to develop and maintain the service.
