The Partnership for Public Service analyzed the results of the 2011 National Association of Colleges and Employers (NACE) Student Survey that asked students about their employment plans.

The results, released Feb. 6, 2012, paint a bleak picture for federal hiring managers, but also provide direction for ways federal agencies might improve their chanices.

The survey of 35,401 students from 599 colleges and universities in all 50 states and the District of Columbia found just 6% of college students surveyed plan to work in government, and just 2.3 % plan to work in federal government.
